Fuerteventura, Canary Is., Spain: located in the Fuerteventura Biosphere Reserve, Verdeaurora is dedicated to agritourism. This is a 30ha finca situated inside the Pozo Negro y Llanos y Cuchilletes de Antigua Special Bird Protection Zone (ZEPA). The farm is an Aloe Vera and olive plantation and here you can buy products related to both.
From the houses it is not difficult to see the endemic Fuerteventura Stonechat. Egyptian Vultures (or “Guirres”) float overhead and species like Ruddy Shelduck and Trumpeter Finch are easily seen.
There are two houses: Casa Rural Pilar, in the Teniscosquey Valley, has been built in line with traditional architecture of the area. There are two rooms with an extra (5 pax) and a private swimming pool. Casa Rural Aurora is next door, north-facing and has one room with an extra (3 pax) and a private swimming pool.
This is a great place to stay if you are birding the island.
