You can give yourself a nice treat from time to time and this place is an ideal restaurant for that. It’s very popular in the whole area, including a large part of the Spanish towns and villages bordering Portugal.
It’s located on the plains of Elvas and Campo Maior, a good area for steppe birds, specially Black shouldered Kite. Between Elvas and Badajoz, in the Caia River, there is a small population of obispo coronigualdo (Euplectes afer), very interesting for the most list orientated birders.
Excellent quality/price value. A meal may cost around 35€ per person, excluding drinks.
They select different kinds of shellfish from all over the world. It’s difficult to recommend a dish but the ‘camaraos tigre’ (tiger prawns) are delicious and the ‘sapateira’ (crab) is also lovely, or the grilled halibut that is …brutal!
