Thailand: situated in Doi Inthanon National Park, a must-visit birding destination due to its mountains, the highest in the country and therefore the only place to see several montane species. This is a cheap, basic option for those who don’t want to stay the night in the park itself.
Situated in the Doi Inthanon National Park, home to Thailand’s highest peaks, with an incredible bird diversity. You can see a whole range of species here that don’t occur anywhere else in the country, and for this reason the park is an essential stop on every touring birdwatcher’s itinerary.
In October 2014, this establishment was cheaper (600 Baht) than the traditional bungalows of the parkj Headquarters (1,000 Baht). Basic but complete, and above all with friendly, welcoming service, much better than in the park. During winter months there is a feeder where you can observe the elusive Dark-sided Thrush Zoothera marginata.
Serve food and beer at varying times. Free WiFi. The owner is an expert guide and organises tours and treks to see birds in the park.
Without doubt a highly recommended place to stay.
