This is a small self-service type restaurant that is part of a monumental structure in Afsluitdijk, that separates the Wadden Sea from Ijsselmeer. It’s a wonderful place to spend the cold Dutch winter sunsets with a nice hot appetizer.
Good quality/price value. The menu is full of sandwiches, hamburgers, omeletes and pancakes, etc.
It’s situated next to the walkway over the road that crosses the dyke, making it a great spot to watch birds in Wadden Sea, such as waders, gulls, Merganser and other sea ducks. And just a few metres away, on the other side you can see large gatherings of Smew and Common Merganser.
