This hostel-bar is situated in Pago de San Clemente (near Trujillo, Extremadura), an ideal place to go birding and close to some other interestting birding sites like Belen plains, the ricefields and wetlands of Vegas Altas del Guadiana (Sierra Brava Reservoir, Casas de Hito, etc.). Monfragüe National Park is only 45 minutes away from Pago de San Clemente.

This small family-owned business is a great example of an initiative based on birds. The staff at this Hostel-Bar are working everyday to make birdwatchers feel at home. You can see bird photos on the walls and even on the bar’s till screen, which is a good sign of a family business commited to birds.

They have a short but a good menu. One of their special dishes are the patatas al montón con huevos (fried sliced potatoes with eggs) and fried suckling pig. A daily menu is not available but they cater every need if you let them know in advance.

Free wi-fi available, as well as an outdoor terrace and interior garden.

The hostel has 4 double rooms available (40€). The café opens late in the morning, after 11:00, however if guests would like to wait to have breakfast so late, it is included in the price of the room.
