Zaragoza, Spain: this small shop is found in the centre of the wonderful town of Daroca, less than 30 mins’ drive from Gallocanta Lake. It is stocked full of typical Aragonese fare.
The speciality here is the jamon D. O. de Truel. The owners being professional jamon slicers, there are always slices for you to try. They have authentic local Aragon cheeses, wine from Calatayud, Cariñena and Daroca, jams, meadow honey and D.O. embutidos (processed meats) including the star, the longaniza sausage with truffles.
As well as taking home the tastes of the region with you, there are all sorts of souvenirs on sale, many of them hand-picked by Carlos, thwe owner. Daroca T-shirts, badges, magnets and mugs, Carlos is an artist interested in ornithological art, so don’t hesitate to ask to look at some of his work.
A must-stop if you are birding the Gallocanta area.
