It’s located in the town of Castelló d’Empúries, next door to the Parc Natural dels Aiguamolls de l’Empordà (Aiguamolls de l’Empordà Natural Park) one of the main wetlands in Catalonia and within 30 min from the Parc Natural del Cap de Creus.

The restaurant specialises in Cuban food and the set menu costs 8.50€ per person. They also offer Catalan cuisine, with the specialty being grilled meats. It’s a friendly place with a good quality/price value.

They offer good wines labeled as guaranteed of origin, as well as international cocktails.

The first weekend of each month they organize an event called `The Cuban Night´ with live music.

Lonely Birder Establishments

Situated in East Iceland. It is very well located at the end of the fjord near Fáskrúðsfjörður, it is quiet and it is very cheap. The owner was very kind and charming. The house and the rooms at Tunguholt are quite large. There is a kitchen with a fridge, oven, etc. if you want to lunch there. There are a lot of parking space beside the house and it is extremely calm. The house is located at the end of the fjord which makes for a magnificient view Harlequin duck is easy to see near the guesthouse.

Trish i Andrew , the owner, are fantastics birdwathers and they’ll help you with information about birds locations. Daintree in Tropical North Queensland’s Wet Tropics region is internationally recognised as one of Australia’s premier birdwatching locations. Over 430 species of birds have been recorded in the area encompassing the Wet Tropics and the Great Barrier Reef region of Australia. This is more than half the bird species for the entire continent. The Wet Tropics has 13 endemic species and of these Lesser Sooty Owl, Macleay’s Honeyeater, Bridled Honeyeater, Pied Monarch, and Victoria’s Riflebird can be seen in and around Daintree. Also of enormous interest to birdwatchers are the Great-billed Heron, Black Bittern, Mangrove Robin, Lovely Fairy-wren, Double-eyed Fig Parrot, Red-necked Crake and of course, the Southern Cassowary which may be seen on the northern side of the Daintree river. 8 out of 10 of Australia’s Kingfisher species, including the spectacular Buff-breasted Paradise-Kingfisher and the diminutive Little Kingfisher can also be spotted in the Daintree. Hotel located at 2000 m of height in the PN of les Capçeleres del Ter i el Freser, in the Girona Pyrenees. It is also a national hunting reserve, with which you can see other types of fauna, such as chamois, marmots, mouflons, roe deer and foxes, among others. In the forests and meadows you can see alpine birds such as Yellow-hammer, Red-backed Shrike or Black Woodpecker among others. On the peaks of the nearby peaks there is still a good population of snow ptarmigan. Regarding check in, this is usually at 4:00 p.m. If you come as a group you can arrange the theme of breakfasts and meals at certain times, sometimes picnics are requested. In addition to the normal rooms, the hotel has 20 apartments of 4 – 6 seats that allow greater freedom at the time of meals and planned departures. The only access to Vall de Núria is through the rack train that can be taken at Ribes enllaç, Ribes Vila i Queralbs. There is no access for vehicles, hence the charm of the place.

The Ankasa Conservation Area lies in Southwest Ghana on the border with the Ivory Coast. Covering 509km2, this Protected Area falls within an ancient rainforest and is the most biodiverse in Ghana. It represents the only wet evergreen protected area in almost unspoiled state The forest still holds viable populations of large and charismatic mammals, such as the Forest Elephant, Bongo, Leopard, and Yellow-backed Duiker. The area has an impressive bird list of over 260 species, the majority of these being truly forest dependant. Several rare birds endemic to the Upper Guinea Forest, e.g. White-breasted Guinea Fowl , Yellow-throated Olive Greenbul, Rufous-sided Broadbill and Rufous-winged Illadopsis are found in the area.

Located at the gates of the National Park of Doi Inthanon, the highest area in Thailand. This park is a must when traveling to the country. Being a high and mountainous area here are many birds that are not seen in other parts of Thailand such as Chestnut-tailed Minla, Green-tailed Sunbird, Rufous-winged Fulvetta, Green Cochoa and many others. The establishment is only one kilometer from the park gates. It has several types of accommodation more basic or luxurious according to the traveler’s preferences. It also has camping, something that is appreciated if you do not have many resources. On the farm there is a spring of mineral water and in the gardens there are good birds more typical of low areas. It has wifi and all the necessary amenities to make the stay as pleasant as possible.
