Aragonese Pyrenees, Spain: situated in the Bujaruelo Valley (beside Ordesa and Monte Perdido Natural Park) at an altitude of 1,350m asl. This is an ideal base for exploring the nearby Otal valley. Good quantity of montane specialists like Bearded Vulture, Wallcreeper, Snow Finch, Ptarmigan, Greay Partridge, Yellowhammer, Rock Thrush and Ring Ouzel. The majority of these spec ies can be seen without moving outside the camp/ refuge area.
The campsite is situated on an open meadow by the refuge and river. There are basic, no-frills services (bathrooms and hot water showers). To use the place just for sleeping in a tent from 8pm to 10am (the “sleep and go” option) will cost you just 6€.

Outside the summer season, the refuge is a good overnight option, with affordable room rates: 15€ in a communal dorm or 31€ for a double with breakfast.
