The Albuergue de Golondrina is situated in Olmos de Astapuerca, an old stone farmhouse renovated as a municipal hostel. It is two minutes from the Atapuerca Lagoon, one of the most important wetlands in Burgos province, where over 200 species have been recorded. Noteworthy are the breeding populations of Eurasian and Crested Coots, and the Bearded Reedling, Sedge and Aquatic warbler passage. Very close to the Sierra de atapuerca and its oakwoods, where tany owl, Long-eared Owl, Goshawk and Northern Bullfinch can be found. 10 minutes from Valle de las navas where you can see Rufous-tailed Rock Thrush, Alpine Swift, Griffon Vulture, Peregrine Falcon, Golden eagle, Egyptian Vulture and Crag Martin.
There are 21 places available in three rooms of 10, 9 and 2 beds. The premises are being managed by Rustica, a company centred in environmental developemnt, and as such there is an emphasis on nature tourism. There is a small room where talks are given about ornithology and horticulture as well as various environmental courses.
There is a small interior patio where they are preparing an ecological garden.
Rustica provides a nine seater van for guests.
