Lleida, Catalan Pyrenees: situated in the small town of Alinyá in the heart of the Mount d’Alinyá protected area. Next to Boumort, site of the Black Vulture Pyrenean re-introduction programme. This is one of the only areas where it’s easy to see all four species of breeding vulture. Right next to the church in Alinyá there is the Mountain vistor centre with an agroshop selling fresh local produce (preserved meats, honey, potatoes, lamb, dairy products, jams as well as basketry) and there is an exhibition of the sights of the valley. You can buy all kinds of bid souvenirs, especially vulture-themed, from T-shirts to soft toys and ther is a range of books.

This is a typical northern restaurant specialising in grilled meats, free range chicken, stewed oxtail and grilled cod. All dishes are homemade and delicious, including home made french fries that are very rarely found in restaurants nowadays. Excellent quality/price value. The portions are superb!

Only a few minutes away from the Special Protection Area of La Nava-Campos Norte. Exquisite traditional Castillian food at a reasonable price. It’s worth mentioning the hare, grouper, cheesecake with cranberries and homemade caramel custard that appear on the menu. Very nice and cosy atmosphere.
