JUNGLE LORE BIRDING LODGE, THE FIRST LB APPROVED IN INDIA

Lonely Birder crosses borders and awards Lonely Birder Approved status overseas for the first time to the Jungle Lore Birding Lodge! An idyllic mountain lodge in northwestern India, at the foothills of the Himalayas and fully designed for the traveler birder. Owned by Asian Adventures, one of the most veteran ecotourism companies in India, it is undoubtedly the best place to stay in the area. We were lucky enough to visit it last December and we witnessed their exquisite food and attention. A hide to photograph some of the target species is available and the garden offers great opportunities both to observe and to photograph Black-headed Jay, Red-billed Blue Magpie, several species of Laughingthrushes (Striated, White-throated or Streaked among others), etc. It’s a must to bird the nearby hills for the endemic Cheer Pheasant one of the three pheasants species in the area together with Koklass and Kalij. It is also an excellent base camp to bird the area of Nainital.

You really need to visit it!
