Northern Greece: near the Bulgarian border and next to Kerkini Lake, with its poulations of Dalmatian Pelican and Pygmy Cormorant amongst many other species. Black-headed Bunting breeds in the hotel gardens. Very good service from Alex, the young owner who is concentrating on promoting ornithological tourism and offers all kinds of facilities to birding guests.
Breakfast is adapted to the needs of the guests, early or after an early start, to ensure no time is wasted.
The rooms are large, clean and the majority of them have views of the lake, and there is a terrace where you can have breakfast or have something to drink. WiFi in communal areas.
There are many places to eat near the hotel.
Alex organises boat trips on the lake, 40€ per boat for a 90 minute trip. On this trip you get good views of the breeding colonies of spoonbills and Pygmy Cormorants, always maintaining a safe distance to ensure minimum disturbance.
