This establishment is situated in the middle of the Lagunas de Villafáfila in the town of the same name and one of the best places in Spain for Great Bustard and other steppe-land birds.
Excellent quality/price value meals – only 11€ /menu in December (2013). There is a good variety of starters and main courses on the menu and all the food is homemade and based on traditional stews.
Meal suggestions: grilled peas with ham, beef tongue stew, pork stew, Castilian garlic soup, mushrooms with garlic soup, rabbit stew.
The house wine is D.O. Toro (labeled as guarantee of origin) from COVITORO Winery. Some other wines from the same winery are also available on the menu.
The dining room is decorated with bird illustrations and it is separate from the bar area.
It gets very busy at weekends in winter and Bank Holidays so we suggest you book your table in advance.
