Catalan pre-Pyrenees: in Montsonís, near the Serra de Montsec, a sierra covered with mediterranean scrub and riverine woodland that is an exceptional place to see raptors and birds of rocky escarpments.
The owners also have a series of aprtments and casa rural under the nomiker “Medieval Montsonís.” They sell crafts, local produce like olive oil, jams and wine, as well as medieval-style ornaments. They also sell ornithological books and field guides, and maps and routes of the area.
The restaurant offers a chance to sample high quality local produce and a daily menu. The décor is medieval-themed, with plenty of birds. Downstairs there is a gallery exhibiting bird photography.
The owner offers a birding guide service, and also guiding for bird photography, making use of various hides and blinds erected to take pictures of Bearded Vulture and Bonelli’s Eagle, or steppe species like Little Bustard and Montagu’s Harrier.
