Northern Peru: The lodge is located in the small village of Cochabimba, the point from where several trails lead to Peru’s highest waterfall- the Gocta waterfall.
The food here is absolutely delicious and the birds are spectacular. Mythical species like Marvellous Saptuletail, Andean Cock-of-the-rock, Buff-bellied Tanager, various antpittas, tapaculos and hummingbirds can all be seen around the hotel.
There are eight rooms and two suites. Prices are high but all mod-cons are included, and there is a swimming pool, a garden and there are hydromassage baths in the suites. This is a lodge for guests looking for comfort who are not afraid to pay for it. A double room costs around 229€ with breakfast included.
Access is easy, just 22km from Pedro Ruiz, the place where many buses arrive from Tarapato and Chiclayo, and 42km from Chachapoyas, the regional capital. At 1800m asl, this area boasts a wonderful spring climate.
