Negev Desert, Israel: Celia is a fantastic South African who has been living with her husband in Ezuz Kibbitz in the Negev Desert in southern Israel for the last 20 years.
They offer home grown produce like Goat´s milk yoghurt, cheese, muesli, coffee and fruit juice. Breakfast is served on a charming terrace overlooking a pond where you can watch a hundred or so Crowned Sandgrouse coming in to drink, as well as other species like Sand and Chukar Partridges, McQueen’s Bustard, Desert Lark, Yellow-vented Bulbul, Palestine Sunbird and Arabian Babbler. In the afternoon Dorcas Gazelle visit the water trough and at night Hyenas and Wolf frequent the area. In the area around the house you can see Pharaoh Eagle Owl and Sooty Falcon.
For around 50€ you can use the observation hide just 2m from the pond. Celia offers accommodation on the farm for a nominal fee or in exchange for help with the goats. Camping is possible.
