Almendralejo, Extremadura: a bar specialidising in breakfasts that include migas extremeñas (breadcrumbs with red pepper and chorizo in lard). Not open afternoons, except Sundays. In town you can see lots of Lesser Kestrel, and in the surrounding vineyards there are Rufous Scrub-robin ad Black-eared Wheatear among other species.

The centre of Almendralejo is a Specially protected Bird Area (ZEPA) dedicated to the conservation of Lesser Kestrel. In the tiles of the iglesia de La Purificacion church roof more than 80 pairs breed. In the vineyards and olive groves surrounding the town you can see Rufous Scrub-robin and Black-eared Wheatear among others.

Near Almendralejo there are the endorreic shallow lakes at Torremejia, and the Alange reservoir, both good areas to go birding.
