Boumalne Dades, Morocco: this hostel/ campsite is a classic among birders on a trip to Morocco. Situated high above the town, you get an amazing view ofver the River Dades.
There are 17 rooms, clean, with air conditioning and heating depending on the season. Each room has a private bathroom with european style toilet. Prices for a double room are around 55€. Sharing with up to four people lowers the price considerably.
Situated in Boumalne du Dades, one of Morocco’s birding hotspots and a must on any birding trip here. An execellent base for exploring the nearby Tagdilt track over stony desert, home to emblematic species like Red-rumped Wheatear (Oenanthe moesta), Maghreb Wheatear (O. halophila) or Thick-billed Lark (Ramphocoris clotbey) and many others. It’s also good for vsisting the nearby Dades gorge.
